edit note: I edited this post to correct a couple typos and also correct the link to Deadspin.
Supporting domestic violence / rape survivors is something that is extremely important to me. Those of you who know me in real life know why I have to do this post today. 🙂 Everyone else…this is something different from what you usually see in this space. I hope you read it but if you don’t…that’s cool. 🙂 I’ll see you in a few days with happier stuff.
Quick back story…earlier this year Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones signed this convicted domestic abuser. (I refuse to use his name and instead will refer to him simply as what he is.) Today Deadspin released pictures from the domestic abusers bench trial and the above mentioned team owner / public supporter of the domestic abuser continued to defend his decision to sign him…said he didn’t see the pictures and also decided not to cut him. Claiming he’s giving him a second chance. Somebody find me a vomit emoticon.
Ok so wait a minute Jerry J, in march when you or really you trotted your daughter out to sign this piece of human garbage you said you did your homework. Every legit media source says that while you didn’t see the pictures you were told in graphic detail what the pics showed. So exactly what kind of homework did you do? Oh that’s right, you looked at game film…you needed a pass rusher…and that’s pretty much where you tuned out.
And you’re giving him a second chance? You horrible horrible excuse for a man…a SECOND chance is for someone who has ya know…actually been punished a FIRST time. This week alone you cut a troubled player. So are you a beacon of light and second chances are you just picky about who you help? The latter makes this even worse. But ya know…like attracts like and all that.
AT&T you must be so proud to have your name on the stadium of an organization that is supporting a domestic abuser…and a murderer…and a man who hit his mom…and who knows how much more garbage is piled up at Valley Ranch (Cowboys headquarters).
What about you Salvation Army? Your organization actually helps battered women. Yet you’re just fine teaming up with an individual who supports domestic abusers? Really? I”ll be sure to skip your bell ringers this holiday season.
I volunteer / work with a domestic violence support group and this whole thing just makes me so sad. I won’t even get into how I feel about the league, commissioner and players association.
It was one thing when Cowboys fans were blindly supporting this piece of garbage before the pictures were released. Disgusting…but sadly not surprising in this “pics or it didn’t happen” culture we’re living in today. But those of you who actually looked at the pictures today and are still defending this piece of excrement? What the everlovin’ H—?
And make NO mistake YOU ARE defending a domestic abuser. No hair – splitting or semantics. He’s not two different people. The garbage you’re cheering for on Sunday is the same piece of excrement who did this…

The person who can look at these pictures / read the transcripts and still defend him today? I won’t even say what I really wanna say about you here…but how very sad. 🙁
And now for the first time in my life I’m gonna say / type something I never ever thought I would…
GO EAGLES! 🙂 y’all don’t know how hard is for me not to add the traditional theater good luck wish (times two) right here. 😉
